INDON BBQ!!!! SEDAP SIA!!!!!

Hi people!!! This is my very first post. Really can't believe I am actually going to start this blog despite my recent problem with my size and weight. But.....Hey....heck it man, eating is my priority and I do not give a 'crab' about my weight. OK.....My first recommendation is the Riverside Indonesian Restaurant branch @ Plaza Singapura (P.S) Kopitiam. I have been patronising this stall since don't know when. I remember during my T32 years, The gang which consists of the guys in the class (except for certain going to get married individual) and some of our female comrades will always end up eating the same thing before our weekly movie dosage. And, every time, is the same thing; Ayam Panggang.
The Ayam Panggang set meal consists of a bowl of chicken soup, a slice of omelette and lemak (coconut rice) topped with curry sauce. There is an addition of vegetables to the meal but sad to say that day when I went to eat there, they ran out of vegetables. The chicken thigh is grilled to perfection. There were no instances when I ate there where the chicken thigh was not grilled thoroughly. The meat is succulent and tender and the black sweet sauce (Indonesian Soya Sauce) compliments the chicken thigh to give a combination of sweet and slightly smoky taste. In addition, the sweet sauce not only compliments the chicken meat, it goes well with the lemak too. The lemak only have a tinge of coconut taste but nonetheless a combination of the lemak and the curry sauce brings out the meal even more. If you wish to spice things up a little, the chili sauce that they serve goes well with the chicken and most importantly the rice. The sauce taste like the normal nasi lemak chili and they put ikan billis to bring out the taste of the sauce.
For some people, the sweet sauce might be a little too sweet. So if you want to taste more of the chicken meat and not entirely the sweet sauce gravy, you may want to consider adding a little lesser sweet sauce. The meal costs around $4.80 and the addition of vegetables cost $0.80. Besides the Ayam Panggang, the outlet also serves other types of grill set meals like fish, sotong (squid) and fried set meals like fried chicken and prawn set. There is also a curry chicken set meal. All the set comes with the usual lemak, omelette, and soup. Personally, I have only tried the Ayam Panggang and the Ikan (fish) Panggang and both tastes equally great.
Overall, the meal is quite affordable and it taste great. The only downside to eating there is the queuing for the food and the problem of getting a seat. During lunch or dinner, you may have to wait up to around 20-30minutes before you get to order. So patience and time is something you must have when you want to head down there and eat.
The location of the place is @ Plaza Singapura level 6 kopitiam #06-15 . Opens Daily from 10am-10pm
